Volunteer and Travel Vietnam is the form by which you travel and do something useful for the society. To me, Volunteer Travel is like buying bread and being offered with milk, so great!

Finishing dinner quickly, everyone volunteered to register performance arts for evening shows. Taking advantage of the wifi available at homestay, we download pre-beat music to ensure quality performances.

We walked to the cultural house for about 200m. When we came there, everyone asked us if there was any program that tonight. It made us very eager!

The small cultural house is a 4th grade house which is half of classroom. There was a square yard, small and clean. On the plain , there was a white line that was a yard volleyball court. This was a field where young people play each day. The stage had been stretched from the afternoon. Angular cockroaches, portable speakers were pulled by the volunteers. The activity of connecting the power and turning on the music made the environment warm up.

The children sing a song

The show combined performances between our group and local ones. Local women performed traditional dances with very beautiful and brilliant traditional costumes. Our volunteer group, few talented voices of gold, did not need to rehearse first, still boldly sang to the local people!

Young children were still the most enthusiastic. They were excited, watched the program, especially the game to receive gifts! For the afternoon, students cannot attend, this was an opportunity to communicate, chat with the children more.

At the end of the program is a bamboo dancing. Honestly, I was considered to be a talented dancer of all kinds. Nevertheless, in terms of bambo dancing, I always danced to the wrong rhythm, squeezed my ankle a lot of times. While others people danced so well !

Lastly, I hold the hands of that two children, we danced successfully a few times!

Bamboo dancing was an interesting exchange between the performer and the audience, between the host and the guest. This is the typical culture of the Northwest people, whose familiar melody deepens in the mind of every Vietnamese people.

It’s so beautyful!

Volunteer And Travel VietnamThac Ba lake is located in Luc Yen and Yen Binh districts (Yen Bai), one of the three largest man-made lakes in Vietnam. This lake is the main water supply for Thac Ba Hydropower Plant – the first hydropower plant in our country. The lake is far 180 km away from the Northwest of Hanoi.

Thac Ba lake was formed when Thac Ba hydroelectric dam was completed in 1971 which blocked the Chay River and created the lake. The area of the lake is about 23,400 ha. The lake has a large amount of silt for the land and ecosystems.

Thac Ba has more than 1,300 large and small islands, such as “Halong bay on land” of the North West.

Not only the beautiful landscape, the lake also contributes greatly to the protection and improvement of the environment. Thanks to the lake, the summer temperature drops from 1 to 2 ° C, increasing absolute humidity in the dry season by 20% and rainfall from 1,700 to 2,000 mm. The limestone mountains have created a beautiful cave system. Thuy Tien Cave, located in the rocky mountain bed about 100 m long with sparkling stalactites.

Thac Ba is also a historical and archaeological site associated with human life here.

It is said that, before the formation of the lake, there is a “waterfall pair” associated with strong and fast flowing water. The local people called it:Male Falls (Thac Ong) – Female Falls (Thac Ba). Later, when the Thac Ba hydroelectric dam was completed, to save the name of two waterfalls into the past, people named Thac Ba and Thac Ong reservoirs named for a bridge in the town.

Since then, the life of people here associated with Thac Ba lake. Lake village area still preserves the pristine landscape and cultural identity of various ethnics such as: Tay, Nung, Mong, Dao, Phu La, Cao Lan … Not only catching shrimp, fish, growing rice, but also people raise cages and fishes in the coral reefs, then plant forests, raise livestock and poultry. As a result, people’s incomes have been improved as well as economic and social life have been improved.

Thanks to pure and clear water, the peaceful islands were shadowed in the lake. The islands here are used for planting the forest. The most common species was eucalyptus. After the flood, the water in the lake rises, in many islands, the water was higher than the tree trunk. In many islands, eucalyptus was still young with red leaves. Therefore, when looking far away, we can see the forest looked like a red one, very interesting.

The boats here were extremely spectacular, people were pedal with … legs. From my understanding, it helped to save energy and combine other things, for example, the hands just dropped the goblet and moved the boat.
